The
experience I’m going to talk about next is this one time when I had a bad
experience on a tennis tournament.
As
you all know I’m a tennis player, so tennis means a lot to me.
It
all started back in 2012 when I signed for this tennis tournament in Argentina,
the name of the tournament was the KIDS CUP.
I
would like to start saying that back in 2012 I was only 15 years old so I was
just a little kid traveling just with the company of my trainer, (her name is
Alejandra).
First
I flew from Colombia to Argentina with my tennis trainer and the first thing we
did as soon as we landed was having something to eat because the fight didn’t
arrived on time so by the time we landed we were starving.
After
we ate something we went to the hotel to leave our luggage and get dressed to
have a previous tennis practice. I remember exactly that we landed in Argentina
on a Thursday afternoon and the tennis tournament was supposed to start on
Friday morning so we were actually in a hurry because we just had one day to
practice before the tournament started.
So
we left our luggage at the hotel, we rested for about one hour and then we took
a taxi to the tennis club where the tournament was supposed to take place. After 20 minutes of practice I started having
a stomach ache but it wasn’t that bad so I kept playing I said nothing to my
coach. I was feeling so bad by the time we
finished practicing that I could barely walk.
So
I couldn’t hide it anymore and I told my coach I was in so much pain that we
needed to go to the hospital, and as soon as I told her I was having a stomach
ache she told me she was in pain too. So
we both went to the hospital.
Remember
all this stuff happened on Thursday and the tournament was supposed to started
on Friday.
By
the time we got to the hospital we started talking to the Doctor and his first
question was: what did you girls have been eating?
And
we told him that we were two healthy tennis players and we liked to take care
of our diet.
Everything
was so weird because I never get sick and usually I like to eat healthy. But
suddenly I remembered that when we landed we had a Burger at the airport, and
we both got the same Burger and we didn’t liked it so much, but we were
starving so we ate it anyway.
Well,
it turned out that the Burger was the thing that got us sick so the doctor
instructions was to had immediate rest, a lot of pills to heal the stomach
ache, a lot of water and of course I wasn’t able to played the tennis
tournament.
So
that’s my story. It wasn’t that bad because nothing serious happened to me or
my coach, but imagine traveling for 5 hours on a plane with the illusion of
playing a tennis tournament and for a stupid mistake don’t be able to do it.
What
would you do if you were on my shoes?
Would
you play the tournament even though the Doctor said no?

If I was in your situation I would try to see the best even tought its a bad situation if the doctor said I cant play and I already travel 5 hours at least I would try to enjoy the place ✈️
ResponderEliminarIf I was in your situation I would feel very sad because of traveling and can't play but everything happens for a reason and you can train harder so in next tournaments you have better results and take more care of what you eat
ResponderEliminarI would try and make all my best, the important thing is that you really enjoy what yo do and never give up and go on your way
ResponderEliminarIn my opinion, everything happens for a reason, if I were you I didn't play the tournament, remember your health comes first.
ResponderEliminarIf I was in your shoes I would obviously don't play, because my health is first. And also I think that everything happens for a reason, so there will be other tournaments where you would be able to play.
ResponderEliminarthats a great story and it the case of sports some times is beter not to play because some times you just have to evaluete the probmlem and solve it.
ResponderEliminarI read your comment with interest. I'am athlete too and I have the opportunity to travel for competition, I think you should take care more, sometimes I travel with food when the trip are long. Don't miss another game!
ResponderEliminarWould not play if the doctor said not to do so, it is important to follow because you might have felt bad, I know it is frustrating not playing but it was better for your health
ResponderEliminarI think you did the best, if the doctor say something, it is necesary to do it, just take more care about you health. New tournaments will come.
ResponderEliminari just read you blog camila! and you need to teach me because im so bad for tennis!
ResponderEliminari thing you can be a good teacher!!
Poor of you! If I was in your situation,I would feel very frustrated and upset by everything that I had to happen there but your health is more important than a tennis tournament.
ResponderEliminarOh I'm sorry to hear that but remember that first it is your healt, you couldn't play in that moment but I know you will be able to other moments to play and I' pretty sure that you will do it exelent.
ResponderEliminarOMG I've never been in your situation but remember that all things pass for a reason or for something, for other way think about your health this more important.
ResponderEliminarI have never been in this situation but remembered that your health goes first than anything!!!
ResponderEliminarI have never been in a similar situation but if I was in that situation I would follow the instructions of the doctor, because health is so important for all and you can try participate in other tournaments, that wasn´t your chance, only think to that everything happens for a reason.
ResponderEliminarI read your blag and I think that it is interesting. I can understand because a same situation was happened to me. In this moment I was very frustrated because I trained a lot for the tournament but after I understand that my health is first that anything.
